The Rain is Comin’

If you have lived in the greater Spokane area for many seasons you know that October and November can be rainy ones. Statistically those of us who live in this area and around Coeur d’Alene know that any rain can bring disaster to our homes if we do not have a working, functional sump pump ready to go.

Here are some tips on how to test yours –

  1. Unplug the power and plug it back in. If it does not turn on ASAP it may be bad.
  2. Fill your sump pit with enough water to raise the float until the pump kicks on.
  3. Look for a large amount of debris in your sump pump pit.

AFTER a heavy rain is NOT the time to test your home’s sump pump! Call A River City Plumbing Service if you are in any way concerned about its functionality. The River City Plumbing techs are experts in sump pump repair and replacement. Look up the phone number for your area in Washington or Idaho by going to arivercityplumbingservice.com.

The ABC’s of Hydronic Heating.

If you’re considering upgrading your home’s heater, you might be interested in hydronic heating. It is also called radiant heating…you may know it by that term. A hydronic system circulates hot water or other heated liquid through plastic piping beneath the floor, along the baseboards, or through your home’s radiators.

Here is how it works. The water in a radiant system begins by being heated inside a boiler. The water flows to a plumbing manifold, which sends the correct temperature of water to different areas of your home based on temperature readings across various thermostats. Too much to absorb in a handful of moments? Fear not…we will fill in the blanks!

If you live in Eastern Washington or Northwest Idaho around Coeur d’Alene or Spokane we would like to show you how radiant or hydronic heating may be the correct choice for your home or office. Please go to the web and search arivercityplumbingservice.com. Call us at the number that best corresponds to you. We look forward to meeting with you.

Have You the Strength and Knowledge to do this Successfully?

That is installing a new bathtub. Yeah, sounds daunting doesn’t it? Logically, installing a tub isn’t an easy do-it-yourself project because it involves working with a large, heavy object in a small space. If you have any misgivings about doing it, why not hire a plumber who has the experience to install it and the proper tools as well as the license to hook up the fixtures?

Just so you know –

  1. It all begins with setting in place a ledger board that supports the edges.
  2. The tub then needs to be pushed into the enclosure.
  3. Coarse drywall screws are used to fasten the ledger board.
  4. The shorter ledger boards then need to be fashioned to the ends of the enclosure.
  5. We won’t continue with all the steps needed to hook up the plumbing.

What we will do is direct you to this website arivercityplumbingservice.com. There, you will find a couple of phone numbers to call…one on the Idaho side and one in Eastern Washington. If you live in the Spokane or Coeur d’Alene area you can count on A River City Plumbing for all your plumbing needs.
