Plumbers are Essential During this Pandemic.

There are essential and non-essential businesses during this challenging time.  Plumbers fall into the former category.  Plumbers, as well as HVAC technicians and electricians are continuing to enter the homes of residents around Spokane and Coeur D’Alene.  Just as you are relying on them, they are relying on you to keep them safe.

Remember that our guys are accustomed to dealing with very unhealthy environments, and they have a series of inoculations they have to go through as a plumber to protect themselves.  As you can well imagine they want to make sure that if there is anyone quarantined, we’re not putting our employees at risk.

Here at A River City Plumbing we are honored to continue serving any and all of the plumbing needs (emergency or not) of the home and business owners around Spokane and Coeur D’Alene.  As always, if you need us, we are a phone call away.  Just call one of the phone numbers on our website depending on what state you are in.  That’s arivercityplumbingservice.com.

They Told Me the Water Heater is Five Years Old.

So, you are taking the plunge and buying your dream home in The River City.  One of the things you need to know from the jump is “how old is the existing water heater?”   If the old owners told you that it is about five years old, what should you expect from the future of this invaluable appliance?

The short answer is…as long as it’s still heating water sufficiently, without leaks or strange noises, you might still get around ten-twelve total years of service from it. A water heater’s useful life varies, depending on the type of water heater, the quality of the unit, and how well it’s been maintained.

When the time comes (and it will) that you will need your new home’s water heater maintained or replace count on the expertise of A River City Plumbing serving Spokane, Coeur D’Alene and their surrounding areas.  The correct phone number to call in your area is just a click away.  Visit arivercityplumbingservice.com on Google.

Walk In, or Recline.

So far that’s not too clear, is it?  Have you been struggling with making the right choice between a tub or a walk-in shower?  There are many pros and cons between the two and you need to be satisfied with your decision, not only for your own comfort, but for the value that it adds to your Eastern Washington or Northwest Idaho home.

Here are some of the questions to ask –

1.  If your home is about to be on the market you may want to maintain the status quo.
2.  How much space are you working with?  The average bathroom is 40 square feet.
3.  Is energy efficiency a priority?
4.  What is your budget?
5.  Who uses that bathroom?

These questions among others abound when you decide which one install in your bathroom.  Whichever you decide walk-in shower or bathtub installation are done best by the plumbing pros at A River City Plumbing.  Here is the best suggestion that we can make right now…visit arivercityplumbingservice.com on the web, then call the phone number nearest you.

Gas…No Laughing Matter.

Does your Spokane or Coeur D’Alene area home have dangerous gases seeping into it or your business and putting you and your family in harm’s way due to a higher risk of gas explosion and household fires?  If proper safety steps are not taken to protect against gas leaks, they can lead to a dangerous situation.

Here are a few fire protection tips –

1.  The piping must be rigid…loose pipes may result in leaks.
2.  A correctly anchored grounding bar/post near the gas panel.
3.  Bond all piping and metal air ducts.

Anything, I mean anything that can be done to reduce gas leaks in your home is a positive thing!  To check for and repair those leaks please call us immediately at A River City Plumbing.  We will replace or repair any leaky gas lines to keep your family safe.  Here are the phone numbers to call (208) 659-6565 if you live near Coeur D’Alene or (509) 954-6567 around Spokane.

It’s Next Winter.

What?  We haven’t even gotten through this one yet and we are already talking about the winter of 20/21.  The reason I bring this up is that your home’s boiler may have been acting up recently (it is at least aging) and you may be thinking…oh well, I will just wait until next winter before I address the issue.

People who come into your Spokane or Coeur D’alene home are slower this time of year.  You have time to do some comparison shopping before deciding on that new boiler.  You can plan your home’s budget much easier by calling a boiler repair and replacement pro this time of year.  It is logical to assume that it’s not going to heal itself this summer!

For these and other reasons you should consider replacing your boiler in the spring.  Contact us at A River City Plumbing.  We will give you what you need to know on the subject of boiler replacement and you will hear it from the very best in the business!  Call (208) 659-6565 if you live near Coeur D’Alene or (509) 954-6567 around the Spokane area.

Plumbers or Plumbing Contractors…What’s the Difference?

A fair question indeed…how much difference is there?  Basically, if you have a common problem in your home's plumbing system you will probably deal with a plumber.  A plumbing contractor deals almost exclusively with new constructions, remodeling, and renovation…the water supply, the septic system, etc.

Plumbing contractors can do more complex tasks than a plumber, as well as doing all of the tasks that a plumber is able to do.  You might find a plumbing contractor working to construct a home's waste disposal system, installing gas connections and flues, or even working on water heaters, both gas and electric.

What do you need these days in the Spokane or Coeur D’Alene area?  Whichever it is, A River City Plumbing has all the answers.  For plumbing projects large and small just call A River City Plumbing at (208) 659-6565 in Idaho or (509) 954-6567 around the Spokane area.  They have the answers to your plumbing questions.
